Cohen, Freda (nee Stern), age 96, beloved wife of the late Martin, loving mother of Joel (Debbie), proud grandmother of Leah, Jason, and Hannah, dear sister of the late Abe Stern, Ida Steinberg, and Libby Benjamin. Service Wednesday 10 a.m. at The Weinstein Funeral Home North Shore Chapel, 111 Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The ARK, 6450 N. California Avenue; Chicago, 60645. Funeral information 847-256-5700.

Dear Joel,
Sorry to hear about your mom. Just found out today 8/19 of your mothers passing. Your mom was a great gal, loved to cook, and always willing to help a neighbor. Have great memories of your mom and dad. They were wonderful people. Our sincere condolences to and your family. It's been a very long time since we have seen you or your mom. I can remember the days when all of us on the block were young and played with each other. Your mom was a great person. We all loved her special noodle kugle dish. Have fond memories of all of you.
