Frances Thompson Obituary

1917 ~ 2012
AURORA, UT-Our beloved mother, grandmother , great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, Frances Rae Coons Thompson, age 95, died October 10, 2012 at her home in Aurora.
She was born March 8, 1917 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Charles Raleigh and Katie Marie Peterson Coons. She graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1935. She married Daniel Stephenson Thompson, May 4, 1937 in the Manti LDS Temple. Dan died December 24, 2009.
Rae was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings in her ward in Aurora.
She served as the Aurora Town Clerk for many years, Post Master for Aurora Post Office for 12 years and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She enjoyed many and all activities with her family and friends, needle point, crocheting, camping, fishing and horses. She and Dad spent many days at Fish Lake, fishing and relaxing.
She will be missed by her three sons and their wives: Terry Dan and Rula Thompson of Monroe; Charles William and Ann Thompson of Payson; James Kent and Kathy Thompson of South Jordan; 15 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Kent R. and Jeanette Coons of St. George.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and two brothers: Manell Goold, Harold Coons and Karlos Coons.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
