Frances Loudon Obituary

Loudon, Frances

Frances Marie Loudon (nee Liberto) died January 5, 2021. She was born January 10, 1932 in Chicago to the late Mary Liberto. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard (2013) and her daughter Kelly (2018).

After graduating from St. Patrick Girls High School in Chicago, Fran divided her time between office work and modeling, and even spent time in New York as a runway model in the Seventh Avenue garment district. She became a legal secretary once her children were in school, and worked for a partner in a large Chicago firm for over 17 years before she retired.

Growing up as an only child and never knowing her father, Fran craved a large family, and she created one with Len, with five children and five grandchildren of her own, along with Len's large extended family of three sisters, their children and many grandchildren.

Besides her family, Fran's greatest loves were food, golfing, theatre and travel. She relished having seen live theatre in Chicago, New York and London.

Her curiosity about the world took her all over the United States and to England, France, Greece, Italy, Mexico and Spain. Her most beloved place in the world was Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, which she visited yearly for over 20 years. She studied Spanish in her 70s, to better communicate with locals who she fondly described as "my people."

She will live forever in the hearts and memories of her children, Christopher (Tracy), Gregory (Darcie), Stephen (Laura) and Tracy (David); her grandchildren, Nicole, Kyle, Ava, Quinn and Luc; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life is being planned.
