Floreine Sanders Obituary

FLOREINE A. (BORGSTORM) SANDERS was born 14 Nov. 1914 and entered into eternal rest 18 Jan. 2003. She was a native Houstonian and a graduate of Regan High School and Rice University. She obtained a BS in 1935 and a MS in 1937. She married the late Odell K. Sanders in 1937. She left the academic arena in 1940 with the birth of her first of three children. Floreine and Odell lived in southeast Houston until 1998 when they moved to League City, Texas. After Odell's death in 2000 she continued to live in the League City/Friendswood area. The Sanders were members of the Church of Christ, and worshiped with the Lawndale, Oak Meadows, and Southeast congregations through their married years. Floreine is survived by a sister, Eunice Swayne of Schulenbger, Texas and three sons, Kenton Wesley Sanders, John Kerry Sanders, and Mark Odell Sanders, their wives and children and great-grandchildren. Memorial service is to be at 7:30 P.M. Thursday 23 Jan 2003 at the funeral home with Brother Jerry Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request a charitable donation to any worthy cause in memory of her life of service to others.
