Evelyn Simmons Obituary

IVOR - Mrs. Evelyn Davis Simmons, 85, of 34110 General Mahone Blvd., Ivor, Va., died Dec. 20, 2003, in Obici Hospital. She was a native of Southampton County, and the daughter of the late Mondoza Davis and Corine Johnson Davis, and wife of the late Ernest Simmons. She was a member of Gilfield Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Denise Gray (Gary) and Pamela McDonald (Robert), all of Norfolk, Va.; one son, Cornell Cypress Sr. of Ivor, Va.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 26, in Gilfield Baptist Church by the Rev. Eustice Mitchell. Interment will be in Johnson's Family Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Friday. The family will receive friends at the residence. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of the arrangements.
