Evelyn Reid Obituary

Evelyn Jessie (Richmond) Reid, of Colvin Street, South Attleboro, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of John S. Reid to whom she was married for 58 cherished years.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on June 25, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Phillips and Annie Jane (Dodgeworth) Richmond. She was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket until moving to South Attleboro in 1980.

Mrs. Reid was a devoted wife, dedicated mother and cherished grandmother and great grandmother who will leave behind a legacy as a caring, loving woman.

Many years ago, Mrs. Reid was employed as an assembler in the jewelry and box manufacturing industries.

She and her husband were formerly attended the Darlington Congregational Church.

In earlier years, she enjoyed attending functions with her husband at the Elks Lodge #90 in Pawtucket where he was a member.

She enjoyed dancing, reading, gardening and planting, knitting sweaters, embroidering and baking.

In addition to her beloved husband of 58 years, she leaves two daughters: Donna Duchesneau of Dunbarton, New Hampshire and Joyce Laramee of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; a son: Gordon Reid of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a sister: Mildred Medeiros of Berkley, Massachusetts.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Reid’s name may be made to the Hospice of CVNA, 141 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
