Lom, Evelyn M.

Evelyn Mary (Lemke) Lom, 95, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 following complications of pneumonia. Evelyn was born October 8, 1917 in the Town of Black Creek to Frank and Elsie (Jarchow) Lemke. She grew up in the vicinity of Five Corners and attended Forest School. On May 6, 1941 she married Edmund Lom at St. John's in Little Chute. They then farmed her parents' farm in the Town of Black Creek until 1969 when they moved to Appleton. Ed preceded her in death on May 9, 1991.

She had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed reading, doing crafts and gardening. She especially loved flower arranging. She was a lifelong member of the Freedom Moravian Church and its former Friendly Service Circle.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Joseph (Mary) Lom, Appleton, Roger (Lynn) Lom, Seymour, Duane (Rhonda Akeson) Lom, LaCrosse, and Darlene Missling, Little Chute; seven grandchildren; Dr. Barbara Lom, Christine (Craig) Moore, Heather (Carl) Schweiner, Erin (Greg) Reisimer, Amber (Jason) Henke, Wylie Lom, Caley (Bryce) Erban, Eight great grandchildren; Sawyer, Lofton, Reis, Aubrey, Jaden, Cambrie, Raina and Alex. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters in law, Bill (Lorraine) Lom and Jane (Geno) Zastrow, as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, step mother Edna, mother and father in law, great granddaughter, Etta Moore, as well as her sister Bess (Harold) Presteen. Also preceding Evelyn in death, are her husband, Ed's many brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the Freedom Moravian Church, W3457 Center Valley Road, Appleton, at 4:00PM, Monday, April 22, 2013, with the Rev. Sandra Crase officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

Your kind gentle spirit was a gift to anyone you met. You were an angel to your family. We will miss you so much, but know you are with your Savior and resting.
