Everyone who met my Grandma would always remember her, refer to her fondly and comment on her fabulous hats. On the surface it may seem as though she was remembered because of her hats…but that is not the case. People truly remember Grandmother Ford because of what was under her hats; her beautiful smile, her cheerful attitude, her bright spirit and her unending generosity. These are the things that will eternally stay in my memory.

Jim and I consider ourselves lucky to have known Mrs. Eugenia Ford. She was a delightful person. Since she was my sister's roommate for two years at Collington we saw her every week. Every time we walked in the door of their room her face lit up and she had such a glorious smile. We always hugged and said some words of welcome and recognition. We truly miss her and remember her with warm affection.

Dear Mother,
I will always cherish the memory of:
our love and devotion for each other, your belief in "growing old gracefully," your success in business and financial management, your work ethic, your commitment to social work, and your determination to pursue your ambitions despite roadblocks or unfavorable circumstances.
Your son, Johnny

Jean Ford was a loving and supportive Mother-in-law who welcomed me into the family. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed shopping for them. When they were young, frequently all three would receive a gift on one child's birthday, "so no one would feel left out". I will miss her generous spirit, her marvelous and mischieveous humor and her sense of style.

I will always remember the wonderful holiday gatherings at Aunt Jean and Uncle Johnnie's House. Aunt Jean was the greatest hostess in town and would make everyone feel welcome- even those that sat at the "children's table". Her grace, kindness and charm will always be remembered by those who love her!

Gramma,
You brought all of us so much joy. You lived your life to the fullest, and the lessons we have learned we will hold onto forever.
At the end of a visit or at the end of a phone call, I used to love saying "I love you," because I loved the way you said "and I love you, too." I can still hear it; clear as day... let me tell you this (although this will not be the last time): "I love you."
~smile~ I can hear you say it back
