I was very sorry to hear of Gene's death. Among my good memories of our White House days are the recollections of the visits of the Stuckey brothers--good guys and never a dull moment!
Best wishes,

Dear Jill and Stuckey family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Stuckey. No one, especially me, knows the right words to say in this hour, but we have a Heavenly Father that promises to be with us and give a peace and comfort that cannot be explained. I pray that He will do that today.

Jill and Stuckey family: I am so sorry for your loss. Gene was such a sweet soul. He always called me Annie, and every time he saw me, he would remind me of the awful glamour shot he had in his office of me. I imagine that he told everyone who asked that I was his girlfriend! I'll always remember his laughter and kindness and lively spirit. He knew just what to say to make you feel special.
To Jill, the Stuckey family, and all his many friends, my thoughts are with you during this time of grief. With love and sypathy, Anya Crum

Gene was a rare soul who helped me in my decade of political life, but whose friendship did not wane as my influence did. I got to know him even better in later years, and in a world full of self-professed Christians I can't think of a better example of one than Gene Stuckey. Our hearts go out to Jill, Talmadge, Gene's sisters, Joey and everyone else that loved Gene.

Gene was a great friend and one of my most valuable political supporters. He and Talmadge provided not only sound advice but recruited hundreds of others to help me become president. Gene was a key member of our Maranatha Baptist Church, and a great Christian citizen. Jimmy Carter

Jill,
I will always remember having great conversations with Gene at the family reunions. He and I had several things in common, particularly with our hearing loss. We exchanged hilarious stories with misunderstanding others. He was a great man with many experiences, insights in life, and an excellent sense of humor.
May God be with you in this time of grief.
