Dearest Melba,

I am sorry for your loss. I was honored to be introduced tour your Mom. I loved her passion for life and family. I was so glad to share time with her and watch the way you loved her. I know she took great pride in the way you loved her. I always loved the way your Mom lite up when you walked into the room. I was so glad to be included into your beautiful family. Your Mom had a way of opening her heart to all, I was grateful to be put into such a loving family. Melba you are what a daughter should be, strong, loving, funny, and very caring. I have seen this in the way you have taken such good care of your Mom. I also see your Mom in you. The way you smile, your love for life, the way you love food, and the way you love your Family. I know that your Mom's light has faded, but you now carry on her flame in your heart and that will never fade. This has always gotten me thru tough times I wanted to share with you. I hope this brings you some comfort. Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet Birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there I did not die.
Love JJ.

Dearest Cuqui,

I am sorry for your loss. I was very honored to have met your Mom. I Know your Mom was so very proud of you. I could tell this by the way she talked about you. I would see a smile on her face just at the mention of your name. Thank you so much for opening your heart and home to me. I was grateful to your warm and caring ways. I know you will carry on great family traditions the way you have seen your mom carry on, because you have her tenderness inside of you. I have seen it in you when you were taking care of your mom. I know family is important to you. I see a lot of your Mom in you. I know you will always make her proud in all that you do. Thank you for all you have shared with me. This is a favorite bible verse of mine that I wanted to share with you. Come to me, all who labor, and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30. Love JJ.

I know that your Mom's light will never fade because you carry on her flame in your heart. The following poem has always gotten me thru tough times. I wanted to share it with you. I hope this brings you some comfort. Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. Here are a couple of my favorite bible verses:

She was full of good works and acts of charity. Acts 9:36. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27.
Love JJ.

Dear Cuqui,
You took such good care of your mom in her last weeks. You kept up with the doctors, comforted your mom with delicious food, and made her laugh. When you walked into the room, she would visibly relax.

Your mom was such a wonderful, wonderful human being. Everyone who met her, loved her. I see your mom in you. Like her, you have a great sense of humor and a passionate love for your family.

You were with your mom all the way to the very end. Because of you and Melba, your mom was never alone. We can all only hope to end our life in that way.
Love, Julie

Dear Melba,
I was so moved witnessing the love between you and your mom in her final weeks. You made her favorite foods...you spent nights by her side...you held her hand and helped her walk...you gave your mom so much comfort. She shared so much with you ...her amazing strength, her keen and funny comments on life and people, and her passionate love for everyone.

I am grateful that I was able to spend some special times with your mom in the past month. She always told me I was part of the family and that has always made me feel sooo good, like the sun shining down on me. Your mom always treated everybody she loved like that...

Melba, you are so much like your mom. She has been and always will be so proud of you. I know she is with you now and always will be until you see each other again in heaven.

Love, Julie
