Erwin Glass Obituary

Glass, Erwin B. Age 91, beloved husband of Barbara, nee Ender for 38 years (and the late Claire Palmer); adored son of the late Arthur and Doris Glass; loving father of Celeste and Carter Glass; cherished brother of Gloria (Irving Epstein) and Wilma (Kenny Winston). Erwin's businesses included Steel along with the famous Faces, Juke Box Saturday Night and Rodeo clubs. Erwin loved life and made every day a party. Perhaps one of his biggest joys and surprises later in life, after his marriage to Barbara, was the birth of his first son Carter. One of his many pleasures was his frequent visits to Paris with Barbara where he truly enjoyed friends and savored wine and food. Never a food snob, Erwin loved everything from a good hot dog to foie gras. Erwin always called his beautiful Barbara, his "sweetheart". Few women were loved and cherished like his beloved Barbara; indeed, she was his true soulmate who he forever cherished. Giving back was important which included coaching teen basketball in Evanston during his son's youth. Erwin was an outstanding athlete in his own youth, playing basketball, swimming and playing bridge for over 50 years. Erwin lived life to the fullest and will truly be missed. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, March 28th at Emanuel Congregation, 5959 Sheridan Rd, Chgo. 60660 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CJE Senior Life, 3003 W.
