Dianda, Emily (nee Valdez), September 23, 2008. Age 81 years. Late of South Chicago. Beloved wife of late Jesse J. Dianda, loving mother of Frank A. (Roxanna) Dianda, Michael F. Dianda, Debra Marie (Mark) Best, Robert W. Dianda, and Linda L. Dianda, fond grandmother of three, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Emily was Owner-Operator of Emily's Beauty Shop for 38 years. Born in Slayton, TX, raised in Denver, CO., and moved to Chicago where she married and raised a family. Emily was an avid Bowler, and Bingo Player. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services Monday, September 29, 2008, at 10:15 a.m. from the Kompare Funeral Home, 9858 S. Commercial Ave., to Sacred Heart Church. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Cremation Private. (773) 768-8800.

Daer Dianda Family, I was sorry to see your Mom's obituary in today's paper. I fondly remember her from our college days (long ago!). She was a sweet & gracious lady, she fed us starving students often, and i may have even gotten a hair cut from her. My deepest sympathy, Arlene Koszyk

Dear Dianda Family,
I was saddened to read your Mom's name in today's obituary. I remember her so well; she used to do my mom's hair and did mine for Bowen's prom in '67! I will remember her with a smile and fondness. You have our deepest sympathies.
