Elva Wynn Obituary
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Grace Westmoreland Lewis; husband, Thomas B. Wynn; brother, Edwin T. Lewis; and a niece, Gay Staton. Mrs. Wynn was a lifetime member of Smith's Grove United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a niece, Nancy L. Coe and husband, Eugene; great-nieces, Donna Clements, Sherry Bleistein and husband, Steve, Tracy Bickley and husband, Steve; and great-great-nephews, Cory and Cole Bleistein.
The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Smith's Grove UMC, 9969 Palmerston Road, Richmond, VA 23236. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Elva was a wonderful and special lady. She had many friends and made each one feel special. My mother was one of her teachers at Smith Grove School more than 80 years ago. She always remembered Mama and in turn the Ragsdale girls. I will remember her love of flowers and her sharing boxwood with me for Christmas decorations. I will miss her, especially when I visit at Smith's Grove UMC.

I am very fortunate in that I was able to grow up visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wynn with my parents. I always enjoyed going to their home at Christmas; to this day, I insist on having a cedar Christmas tree because I always thought their's was so beautiful. It was quite a shock to hear of Mrs. Wynn's passing...in my mind she will always be smiling, petting Cindy, and telling us to come back soon.

Elva was such a dear dear friend and such a fine lady and a sweet spirit. I am so glad I got to see her at Lenten service on Wed. morning. She looked so beautiful. I shall miss her.

I was saddened to hear the news and will miss seeing her at the beauty shop on Saturday mornings. She was a wonderful lady with such class and charm and will be missed by everyone.
