Grandma I can't believe that it has been a year since you have been gone!! I miss you and grandpa a lot!! We'll be missing you a the Newell Xmas!! We love you both!!!!

I miss you extra much these days - So much going on in all our lives. Silas is quite the character, and I so often want to pick up the phone and tell you tales. I know you are watching over all of us, and I feel your presence frequently.

I can't believe we have gone 2 months without you now! It has been so hard with out you around. I think about you everyday! I have about 9 weeks left until my duedate I so wish you could be here when Dominic comes into the world. I cant wait until he gets older so I can tell him all about you! Oh my grandma I miss you so so much, I just want to pick up the phone and talk. But anyway I was walking through skyway in dwtn st. paul and had a memory of going to lunch with you and watching the big water fountain shoot up to the ceiling that was so much fun. I miss you so so much you will always be in my thoughts and my heart.

Grandma I miss you so much it's so hard waking up each day knowing you are not here with us. We had our family christmas party on saturday but it wasn't the same without you. You are missed so much by all of us....

My Mother

She was the most amazing woman I have ever known. She had a great personality and loved to be with people. She also had a great memory. If you needed to know about movies, a person, history of the state, or anything else happening she probably knew it. Her dad, Grandpa Hargarten, was the same way. She like to play poker- real poker!- not the new poker like Texas Hold'em. She said that she couldn't understand it.

The best thing about mom was that she was a fighter and she never gave up when things really got tough. She always made sure that we kids were taken care of.

Mom, I'm going to miss you very much and I know you will be in my heart all the time.

A week ago today you left us and my heart broke in two. I wonder around not knowing what to do. I know in time my heart will mend with the memories I have of you, but I still want to hold and hug you and tell you what's new!!!Instead I'll say a little prayer to you and hold on to the time I spent with you.

To the Newell family,
You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your wife, mom and gramdmother. I have known her daughter Andrea, for years. I only met mom in passing, but through Andrea have heard her praises sung. May you share the memories, laughter and love of Elizabeth to help you go forward. You will be kept in my prayers.

It's hard to put into words how much my mom meant to me and how much I will miss her. With her amazing sense of humor and wit, she was always able to pick you up when you felt down. I think what I will miss most is stopping by the house and sitting in the kitchen talking girl talk and giggling with her. She was always so excited to hear when something good happened to one of us or how proud she was when you told her about something you accomplished. She always made you feel special. It's so hard to let go of her here in the physical world - but I know she will always be with me.

Thanks for always being there for me - whenever possible, give me a sign to let me know you're still there. Until we meet again.

Unselfish is one of many descriptive words that come to mind when I think of you, Mom. Even when it was not in your best interest, you put others first. I feel most proud of you when I see how much you have meant to your grand (and great grand) kids, your nieces and nephews, and also your daughters- & sons-in-law. They all know that you genuinely cared about them and wanted what was best for them all. What a positive legacy you have left us!
Thank you for being there for me - in good times and in bad. I will miss our long phone chats and catching up on everyone's life events. I know, though, that I can still talk to you any time I feel the need. Watch over us, Mom. You are now our very own, sweet guardian angel.

I worked with Peggy at Physicians Clinic many years ago. I just wanted to say to Rick and Peggy how sorry I am for your loss. Parents are special people and when you lose them, it is very hard. I will keep you all in my prayers at this time of loss.

Mom,you were truly a special person. I have such pride in the number of people who tell us how much they enjoyed being in your company. I will miss our long phone talks and the way you signed off -"Tell the kids and Peggy I love them, and the cats too!" You will always be in my mind and heart and I treasure the time we had together. She was enjoyable, special lady...

Grandma, I was so blessed to know you. You were truly an amazing woman and I wish Silas would have gotten the chance to get to know his great-grandma. He is lucky to have such a wonderful angel looking down on him.

I don’t know that I can truly express in words how much she meant to me. What I do know is that her memory will always be with me. The selfish part of me wishes she was still here, but I know in my heart of hearts that she is now in peace. And with that I am at peace. Grandma, you will always be loved and your memory cherished.

The true measure of a person is not only gauged by what they do on this Earth while here but more importantly what legacy they leave behind. Betty has left behind a long lineage of good people who Love her and each other. She has left all our lives enriched with the gift of laughter, spirit and a strong sense of family values. I feel truly blessed she welcomed me into her fold and gave me the gift of knowing her and her family. Without her my life would not be meaningful as it now is. Thank you Betty, I won’t miss you because you will never leave me.

It was a honor having Betty as my mother-inlaw. I will always remember her quick witted come backs, and wonderful sense of humor. She was truly a classy lady! and as with my mother she will be in my thoughts every day.
