Liz was my best student. She was energetic, thoughtful, compassionate, and hard working. She provided office assistance for the new Center for African American Research when we had no resouces. She gave her time, knowlege and skills to the Center. She was so young and full of life. I have lost not only my best student but one of the nicest persons who ever touched my life. I will mourn her leaving us for years to come. Be at peace Liz. I love you.

To the Houlihan Family:

As you know, Liz was one of my best friends ever and there is a huge whole in my heart where she used to be. It's difficult to express how much she meant to me, but please know that she was an amazing friend to me and I don't know what I'll do without her. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, of course. I guess I just wanted to make sure everyone knew how awesome Liz was and how much she impacted the world around her. She never let anyone tell her what she could & could not do - both her gift and her curse :) I think she always knew life on earth would be shorter for her. What she didn't get in numbers of years she made up for with the kind of life she lived. Her life is the kind that books are based on - maybe that will be the way I remember her. Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you know I was thinking of you (and will always) and to let you know that I (and so many others) could never forget Liz. I know she has God's peace now and is so much happier, but I sure do miss her and look forward to the days when we'll all be together again.

With much love,

Heather Truskowski

Bridget,

Our prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family in this time of sorrow. In this time of sorrow, remember the good times you and Liz had, especially remember all the fun you both had during swim practice when you were chasing each other around the pool. Or when you supported each other during a race. We will remember how much love you and Liz had for each other. Know that you have a big sister as an angel above watching and protecting you as she has done in the past.

Love,

Jennifer(Regh)Brunetti and Stephanie(Regh) Yehling

Dear Houlihans,

Our very deepest sympathy to each of you in the loss of your daughter and sister. Liz certainly made an impact on many people's lives especially our daughter Heather.

Although she will be missed terribly by those of us left behind, it is comforting to know she now is with God and no longer has to endure earthly pain and suffering. She was a very strong woman and taught all much. May God be with each and every one of you and feel comfort in knowing many people loved and cared about her.

I just heard about your loss and I wanted to let you all know how much I enjoyed knowing Liz. Right from the start of my freshman year at DePaul, when we lived next door to each other, we were friends. More recently, although we lost regular contact, every year or so, we would re-connect and it would be like we didn't miss a beat. Liz was a great person and her friendship meant a lot to me. I regret that I never gave her that call or sent that email that I've been meaning to do.

PLease know that you all are in my thoughts at this difficult time. Hold onto your memories.

All my love-

Amy Zaremba

Dear MaryJoe & Family:

I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy. I can not imagine what it would be like to lose a sister in such a happy family like yours. I remember during highschool what

good times we had and how much time I spent with your family for dinners and sleepovers (hiding out in the camper). You had as many brothers and sisters as I had. I missed you through the years and wish I knew how to contact you and your family. My prayers are with you and your family during this rough period.

God bless all of you.

Regards,

Cathy (Brucker) Stalioraitis

Dear Houlihan's,

I am so sorry for your loss. I do not know the words to say. I do know how much Liz loved her family and how important each and everyone of you were to her. She was such a special person, and we were all touched by her. I feel lucky to have known her, even if it was for too short of a time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. All my love, Amy
