Elizabeth Agnew Obituary

She was known for her great sense of humor and her mischievous antics



McHENRY - Elizabeth Anna Agnew, 84, an 18-year resident of Alden Terrace of McHenry, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at Alden Terrace.

She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Chicago, to William and Anna Bishoff Knuth. On Feb. 9, 1945, she married Harry Agnew in Chicago.

She was employed for many years as a bank teller. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses congregation in in Spring Grove, now in Twin Lakes, Wis. She enjoyed music and loved to play the piano at family gatherings. She was exceptionally devoted to her family, and they often referred to her as "the best mom in the world."

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Jim) Ingram of McHenry; a sister, Lorraine Ackerman of California; two grandchildren, Wendy (John) Reynolds of Cary and James (Dina) Ingram of New York; and four great-grandchildren, Elliott, Evan, Julia and Luke.

She was preceded in death by her husband in April 1989; and three brothers, William, Robert and Russell.

Per her wishes, no services are scheduled.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
