Aunt E. L. asked me to write my baby girl's name down for her and she would pray for her. This was during the 2002 family reunion in Chicago, Ill. My baby girl is now pursuing a law degree at the University of Memphis. She has turned her life around and is doing great. Thank you, Aunt E. L. for being such a great prayer warrior. I love you.

My name is Eloise Elliott. Aunt E. L. was my daddy's (Chester Gossett)sister. She and I were raised like sisters because I was raised by her mom and dad, Lula and Arthur Gossett. I remember Aunt E. L. jumping into a lake to get me when I was little and had fallen in and neither one of us could swim. That was the type of person she was. I am going to miss her and I thank God I was able to see her one more time before she passed. It was during her celebration at her church. Rest in peace Aunt E. L.

Granny I was just thinking about you again and how much I miss you. I was thinking how happy I was to know that you were still here to receive the Mothers Day card that I had sent. Tina and I had just received news that you were ill and we had told one another how we had jut sent out cards for you. We were both crying because we didn't think you would be here to get them. We were so happy that you did. I know you are having a wonderful time being in the presence of the
Lord. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Loving you always,
Your grandaughter (Flinard's daughter),

When you talk about Aunt E.L., you could say so many things about her life and ministry. You could tell of her devotion to the word of God and how she preached it in the most hostile of places. Or you could share about her heart for world missions. Or her love for students and their love for her. Momma Dorris and I have our own favorite “Mother Eleatha story” about how she effected and influenced us in ministry and service. We cannot replace auntie; she was one of a kind. I was fortunate to have been a part of her life and love.
