Eleanore Devine Obituary

Devine, Eleanore (Edwards) 89, of 1959 Kingstown Road, Wakefield, Rhode Island died on April 25, 2005. She was a contributing editor, ardent Paris lover, lecturer, Ragdale alumna, a thirty-year volunteer teacher of speech reading, and a prize winning author. Her feature stories appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune and SHHH Hearing. She was a member of The Writers, in Glencoe, Illinois; South County Writers; The Saugatucket River Heritage Corridor Coalition; Self Help for Hard of Hearing-Sargent Group; and National SHHH. Mrs. Devine was a daughter of the late Earnway Edwards and Mary (Colt) Edwards. She was the wife of the late James Francis Devine. She is survived by two sons, Philip Edwards Devine of Providence and Bath, Maine; James Goldfarb Devine of Torrance, Calif; a daughter, Dorothy Frances Devine of Peace Dale; a grandson, Guthrie Peter Goldfarb Devine; a sister, Marjorie Edwards Conover of Larkspur, Calif; and a dear friend, Carolyn Young of Evanston, Illinois. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 22, from 1-2:30 p.m. in the North Shore Sr. Center, 161 Northfield Road Northfield, IL.
