Eleanor Wildes Obituary

Dover, NH – Eleanor Emerson Wildes, 90, formerly of Rainbow Drive died Friday August 8, 2003 at the Dover Rehabilitation and Living Center.

Born in Madison, NH on July 28, 1913 the daughter of Leslie and Maude (King) Emerson and moved to Dover in 1927 where she graduated from Dover High School, class of 1933.

Prior to her retirement she worked at the General Electric Co. in Somersworth for more than 30 years. And was an active member of the GEEA.

Eleanor enjoyed many activities, bowling, music, dancing and people. She was a former member of the Rebekah’s having served as Noble Grand and was a member of the AARP having served as president for one year, and was a member of the Back River Community Club.

In addition to her husband Richard J. Wildes who died in November of 1967 she was also predeceased by five brothers, Burchell K. Emerson, Sr. and Leland Emerson both from Dover, Chellis Emerson of Conway, Erlon Emerson of Westwood, MA and Francis Emerson of Tilton, NH.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Wednesday at the Tasker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport, ME.

Those who wish are invited to make memorials in her name to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104.
