Sikorski, Mr. Edwin R. 84, of La Porte, IN., died at 8:35 p.m., on April 17, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Sikorski was born August 25, 1923 in Chicago, ILL. to Bruno and Helen (Waclaw) Sikorski. On September 10, 1966, in Chicago, IL. he married Loretta R. Lilovich who survives. He was a mechanical engineer for Western Electric for 41 years. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, of the 8th. Armored Division and participated in The Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the American Legion Skwiat Post #451 of Michigan City, IN. He leaves behind His wife, Loretta R. , 3 sons, Matt (Janet) Sikorski of Michigan City, IN., Robert (Kristie) Sikorski of Markleville, IN., William (Kari) Sikorski of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also 6 grandchildren, Aaron, Derek, Jacob, Noah, Nathan and Hayden Sikorski and 1 brother, Leonard Sikorski of Chicago, IL., four nieces and 9 nephews. He is preceeded by His parents, 1 sister, Genevieve Bochenek and 1 brother, Edward Sikorski. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 21st. At 10:30 A.M. at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Michigan City, IN., with Rev. Terry Chase officiating. A Wake Service will be held Sunday, April 20th. At 5 p.m., with Rev. Terry Chase officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 20th. From 1 to 6 p.m. continuing on Monday, 9 to 10 a.m. at the Essling Funeral Home. at Essling Funeral Home. There will be a Military Honor Guard presentation of the flag following the mass at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, in Chicago, IL, Monday, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Donor's Choice.. Arrangements are being handled by: Essling Funeral Home.

What a wonderful father and role model he was. We were fortunate to see him around his son Bob, daughter in-law Kristie and their 3 beautiful children. He will be greatly missed but has left a legacy to be proud of. God Bless and see you in heaven.
