Edwin Rauchenecker Obituary

Rauchenecker, Edwin K. of Bettendorf, Iowa, age 79, died at home after a long battle with cancer. He previously resided in Sabula, Iowa for 36 years, and prior to that the Chicagoland area. He married Sylvia (nee Achtabowski) in 1953 and they had 8 children. Ed started his railroad career with the Milwaukee Road and retired in 1991 after 37 years of service. He was proceeded in death by his parents George & Delores, his wife of 40 years Sylvia, and an infant daughter Cheryl Ann. Ed is survived by his wife of 16 years Catherine (Kay), his seven children Karen of Savanna, IL; Michele McIver (Michael) of Yorba Linda, CA; Julie Coyle of LaHarbour, CA; Bonnie Marshall of Esmond, IL; Michael of Clinton, Iowa; Eddy (Nancy) of Sabula, IA; and Keith of Rockford, IL; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. His ashes will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL on Friday November 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. section 14, lot 495, grave 3.
