Edwin Cleveland Obituary

Edwin Harry CLEVELAND Ed was born June 10, 1915, in Tacoma. He died peacefully October 16, 2003, in Kent. Raised in West Seattle, he graduated from West Seattle High School in 1933. Ed lived a full life. Married for 66 years to his high school sweetheart, Virginia Richardson, they began their married life in West Seattle. In 1950, they moved to the Kent Valley where they have lived for the past 53 years at their farm on Springbrook Road. Many grand memories occurred over the years that included his large family, his wife Virginia and children Nancy Oehler (DuWayne), Sally Sharick (Jack), Dan (Marsha), Craig (Dawn), Jane Cleveland, Marilyn Cleveland, Carol Lavelle (Jim), Heidi Cleveland and 16 grandchildren and 18.5 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Clyde, grandson Jeff Cleveland, great-grandson Luke Atkins. Ed was a long time self-employed milkman in the Kent Valley, serving the community for 39 years and in his "spare time" running the Springbrook Angus Ranch. When he retired, he sold real estate for 10 years. Recently, he spent his days assisting on an addition at his church. He will be remembered for his ability to tell a great story, his interest in early Seattle history, his love of golf, and his wide circle of friends with whom he enjoyed many cups of coffee. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Visitation, Thurs. Oct. 23 from 12:00-8:00 p.m. at Marlatt's Funeral Home, 713 N. Central, Kent. Memorial Service, Oct. 25, 11:00 a.m. at Panther Lake Community Church, 10630 S.E. 204th, Kent. Memorials to Panther Lake Community Church New Facility Fund.
