Hi Ed,

Tomorrow will be one year since you left us to go to a better place. It seems like only yesterday, as the memories are still fresh in our minds. I want you to know that you have been in our thoughts and prayers everyday and will continue to be in our hearts. I lost John on January 11th, 2009 and I miss him so very much. If he is with you please tell him I love him and miss him with all my heart. Let him know I am doing my best and if it wasn't for Alida and his daughters I would not have made it thru this most difficult time, but I have made it so far.
I think that this may be the last time that I get to write to you, so I want you to know that you are never far from our minds and will always be in our hearts. Your wife misses you so much, but be proud of her Ed, she is doing good, the best that she can.
Alida and I are here for each other and will always be, so rest peacefully knowing that we have each other to lean on. We will all be together some day, until that day may you be a peace in the house of the Lord.
We will never say "goodby" only that we will see each other again some day.

P.S. Please tell John that you heard from me and could you wrap your arms around him, tell him I love him and that everything will be ok. Thanks Ed, that would sure mean alot to me.

I send all my love,

Love, Karen

Dear Ed,
John & I were deeply saddened by your passing, but know now that you are safe in the arms of the Lord, free of pain and free of the cancer that took your life.
On Saturday we celebrated your life with a beautiful memorial. Your family and friends all gathered on your behalf and it was very touching . We all had tears in our eyes, but left knowing you are still with us and always will be in our hearts. I can't tell you how proud I am of your wonderful wife, her strength has been an inspiration to me. She has certainly gone above and beyond all limits, as she expressed the love she has for you. You were certainly blessed to have her as your wife and in your life. She missses you terribly but know that she is doing the best she can right now and will get thru the hard days and nights ahead with the help of her family and friends. Your children have been just wonderful and I know they will always be there for her, and your buddy Chico keeps her company.
Thank you for always asking about Johnny and if you can, please ask God for his help to see him thru the difficult time he is having now. I thank you also, for always asking Alida to say hi to your "girlfriend". I thought it was the cutest thing and will never forget ,as it meant so much to me.
So "boyfriend" rest in peace in your home in heaven, until we all meet again.
We send you our love and will always have a place for you, in our hearts

Love from your good friends,

Karen & John (Johnny) Heinrich

Dear Ed, my wonderful brother in law.YOU were always there when we needed help with hanging fans or painting the kids rooms , fixing so many things and teaching us at the same time. The whole family loved and appreciated your energy! and we had some hysterical laughing episodes during some of those times..we also enjoyed our vacations together a few times to Mackinaw Island and recently when you and Lee Eagan toured down by Lexington to see the new Windmills and see the local bar, while Alida and Scott and I were touring the mansion ..I am so glad you made it Faith's birthday party! We will miss your laughter and the stories!!! Love you forever from Mary Evans and family

Greetings in the name of Jesus;
Ed, Butch and I always knew you were a special person. The outpouring of love shown to your memory is a beautiful tribute to you and your family. We will always remember you and keep watch for when we meet again. I love Alida like a sister and will help her whenever she calls on me. I am so glad we spent time together while you were in your doctors care this last time. And I will never forget the oranges. Remember the oranges? I know you do! Please say hello to Jesus for me and tell Him I am working as hard as I can in His name.

My dear husband Ed,
Yesterday we had the most beautiful memorial service in your honor at the Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park, Illinois. I know you were there with us in spirit as I felt you there beside me. I sat next to Pam who even in her grief comforted me. She's the daughter I would have loved to have with you and I thank you for sharing her with me. I also thank you so much for sharing your wonderful sons, Ed and Jeff. Ed has been like a right arm to me through all this. I've asked God for blessings on all your children and to let them know how much I love them too. The Pastor talked of your life, family and some people (Jennifer, Butch, Mary Jo and Karen Heinrich) gave wonderful testimonials to your life. I know you were proud hearing all that was said. After the service we all broke bread together and enjoyed fellowship. It was a wonderful celebration of your life babe and I will treasure every moment. I love you very much and treasure our marriage and love. You are indeed my "forever love" and you will remain with me for all the days of my life until we are joined again in Heaven to live with our dear Lord Jesus and Father God.

Until we meet again in Heaven,

Your loving wife,

Alida "Lee" Potocki

P.S. Scott knows for sure you are in Heaven and was telling everyone that yesterday. Chico is doing better but I'm sure if he could talk he would say he misses you. Fred told me he will take good care of Chico while I'm at work so I have nothing to worry about.

Grandpa, I cherish all of the precious memories that I created with you over the years and hold them close to my heart. Now you are in heaven a much happier place where you don't have to feel pain anymore. I am also very fortunate to know that you are in heaven where you now can help guide each of us in our lives. Grandpa, one last thing... please talk to God about helping to make my mom feel better.
Love Always,
Katie

My dearest husband,
I can't believe you are gone from me and the pain will not stop today. I am glad we got to share some precious time on Monday night before our dear Lord Jesus came and took you home to Heaven. I know you are totally healed now and walking in Glory with all who went before you. I promise I will do you proud here on earth until the Lord comes for me and we will be joined again to live in eternity. Scott is very sad that you are gone and doesn't quite understand but he does know you are in Heaven and Chico--well, he is just so sad that "daddy" isn't here. I will take good care of him and we will all go on until we are called home.

I love you and miss you terribly and my heart just aches right now but I rejoice in the fact you are healed and by now you probably are seeing my mom and dad--please give them my love too.

Always remember I love you and will think of you everyday no matter what I'm doing or where I am.

Until we meet in Heaven...............

Love,

Your loving wife,

Alida "Lee"

Dad, my heart still hurts with pain as I struggle through the day. My thoughts of you are clear in every single way. I want to stop and thank you for the guidance that you shared. The bravery, strength, and struggles of evrything you've endeared. Your memory will not be forgotten. I leave you with this note of certain things we shared. We love you as a family and know your not alone. Rest peaceful in a place where everyone is safe.
Love Your son Ed
