I worked for Ed in the 1970s at Illinois Bell in the Suburban Data Service Center. Ed was "old telephone school." He had one of the strongest senses of right and wrong of anyone I have ever known. Ed was a task master but at the same time was one of the most caring managers I ever worked for. On the birth of our second son, Ed presented us with the largest container of talcum powder we have ever seen. It is interesting to note that William is still using the talcum powder at age 31. Ed also contributed to our data communications museum. What a giver Ed was. After retirement he obviously continued in his caring and giving ways. Ed certainly did his duty in the best way he knew how to his country, his family, his employer, his friends and his neighbors. I am proud to have known him. May God bless his family and friends.

To the loving family of Ed Kohout.
Don and I are very sorry for your loss. Ed was a fine man and a gentleman. Don and I have worked with Ed in Summit when Don and I first met. We had seen Ed often at the meeting with old friends at the Summit V.F.W.
God bless all of you and may peace enter your hearts at this time. Love never fails even after death.
With heart felt feeling,
Don and Mary Jane Gribnitz
