Father Barron was a very special person who always made others feel special. He was a wonderful friend to me. I was blessed to have his guidance thru grammar school, high school, marriage and my Mother's funeral. He was an exceptional person and will be missed.

Fr. Barron was a good family friend, a spiritual mentor, and in many ways the father I never had.

Father Barron was the quintessential Roman Catholic Priest. We at St. Philip Neri were most fortunate to have known him.

Fr. Barron was our family's prime connection with St. Philip Neri, and in many ways, the Church, from the time our family moved into the parish in 1941. My brother and I were altar boys under his tutelage. He baptized my sister. He kept us all in check on Friday nights at "Fr. Barron's Dance Hall." He epitomized the kindly priest who ministered to the people. RIP

Ed Barron and Jerry Ennis were buddies and schoolmates. Their mothers, Agnes Barron and Rose Ennis, were best friends. Fr. Barron was a wonderful priest and friend to our family. He paid a lovely tribute on the occasion of my Father's 80th Birthday via videotape, and I feel privileged to have his legacy on record.

Fr. Barron baptized me and prepared me for confirmation when I was 19 yrs. old in 1953. He was the best role model a truly gentle and holy man, yet he had a wonderfully warm nature and great sense of humor. I will remember him and his teachings always.

How fortunate we were to have Fr.Barron with us during "growing-up" years at St.Philip Neri. In adulthood, he was only a phone call away to offer wisdom, compassion and faith-sustaining advice. He appeared at family funerals to offer spiritual comfort and will always be in our hearts as the epitome of priesthood.

ETERNAL LIGHT WILL SHINE UPON HIM.

Fr. Barron was an inspiration to all of us at St. Philip Neri parish.

I know the hours he spent standing outside of church to greet all of us as we were leaving school every day gave us an example of Christian love. And how we loved him!!!

I have very fond memories of Father Barron. Whenever I think of him I always remember the Latin Masses he said for our class at Elizabeth Seton High School. He would say the entire Mass in Latin, including the homily, and then talk with us about our understanding of his message. I looked forward to that event every year and still talk about it with fellow classmates to this day. He and his family are in my prayers.

Father Barron is part of my wonderful memories of growing up in and being a member of St. Philip Neri parish. Remember one time when I was about 7 or 8 years old, the cardinal was going to visit and I asked Father Barron how would I recognize him? Father told me to look for the man wearing red socks! Imagine my surprise when I saw the cardinal dressed all in red. My sympathies to his family and many friends.

Father Barron was also part of my families history. He converted my mother to the Catholic Faith. He married my parents in the Catholic Church. He also married both my sisters Sally and Jill. I have very fond memories of him and remember him always calling us kids at St. Phillip Neri "Kiddies". What a wonderful man, and what a long life he had.

Fr. Barron was a dear friend of my grandfather, Ed Hein and I'll always remember him as our "family priest".

I was honored to have had him baptize my son, and by doing so, he blessed 4 generations of our family.

He will be missed...

Fr. Barron was a priest who imitated Christ while living here on earth. He was such a beautiful role model to all who knew and loved him. It was most appropriate that God took him to heaven on Father's Day. God loves you and we love you.

Hearing of the passing of Father Barron causes me such pain. We have been friends since I was 9 years old and it was his first day at St. Philip Neri. We have remained friends for all these years. He married and buried all members of my family. In many ways he was our family seeing us all through the good and the bad times. He was, with all his faith and compassion, the "perfect priest" and I know God welcomes him with joy and love for all the good he did in his earthly life. Father Baron married my parents and baptised all of the Rundle children. He was one of my parents and my families favorite priests. Father Baron was the kind of priest that made St Philip Neri such a great parish. I know that my dad will be glad to great him now that Father Baron is up in heaven.

My family knew Fr. Barron during the 50's and 60s when he was an Associate Pastor at St. Philip Neri in South Shore. He was one of the good guys -a wonderful shepherd and priest...always available and accessible, especially during difficult times. Sometimes, He had the task of passing out report cards at school - and once, when everbody did well, he granted an unexpected free day and sent all of us home. The nuns and parents were fit to be tied - but to us kids, he sure was a hero that day! God bless you Fr. Barron!

Our beloved cousin and family priest.

Edward Hein

June 18, 2002

Fr. Barron was a great priest who led a full, exemplary life. He and my father met when they were teen-agers, and they remained friends the rest of their lives. Fr. Barron was always there for our family, offering wise, humane counsel and support in times of sadness and times of joy. He was my ideal of what a priest should be. I was happy and fortunate to see him one last time in early May, when he performed what must have been his final marriage ceremony, for my nephew, Michael Hein. So passes a truly good man. We are all blessed to have known him.
