Friedman, Edith (nee Vernof), age 82; beloved wife of the late Henry; loving mother of Judy (Harvey) Steinlauf and Norman (Carolyn) Friedman; devoted grandmother of Kim (Mark) Shapiro, Jeffrey (Dina) Silver, Jamie (Dan) Struck, Heather and Alissa Friedman, proud great grandmother of Ryan Silver, Emma, Julia and William Struck; dear sister of Ruben (Diana) Vernof and the late Meyer and Norman Vernof; fond aunt of Dr. Howard (Roberta) Vernof; and, the Friedman family thanks her caregiver, Liz Dacanay, for all her love and support. Service Tuesday, 11 a.m. at The Weinstein Funeral Home North Shore Chapel, 111 Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity. Funeral Information 847-256-5700.

I knew Edie for approx. 40 years since I became friends with Norman! She and Henry were at my wedding where Henry sang a song to Lizzy & I, shortly before he passed away! I have decades of happy memories of her and the entire Friedman "clan"! May she rest in peace!
