Dot Hyman Obituary

Hyman, Dot 98, of Highland Park and Rancho Mirage, CA, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in California, beloved wife of the late Edward Hyman, loving mother of Joan Holland, cherished mother-in-law of Eli Glassman and the late Marvin Holland, devoted grandmother of Jeffrey Holland, Edward (Ann Dee) Holland, Philip (Susan) Holland, Laura (Richard Argosh) Holland, David (Carrie Thomas) Holland, Gary (Joan Branham) Glassman, Stephen (Sarah Elgart) Glassman and Marci (Richard) Gollis and 15 great-grandchildren. An accomplished pianist, she was affectionately known as "Miss Dot" and taught Rhythms and accompanied Dancing Classes in many Public, Private and Parochial schools in the Chicago area for many years. She founded the first Senior Citizen's Group at the former Henry Hart Jewish Community Center of Chicago in the 1960's. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, 6338 Variel Ave., Woodland Hills, CA, 91367. Services will be held Sunday, June 29th, 1 p.m., at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church St), Skokie. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery. Info: Piser Funeral Services, 847-679-4740.
