Dorothy Stagowski Obituary

Stagowski, Dorothy Ellen (nee Whittleton), age 77, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 6, 1933, a daughter of Wellesly and Mary (Connolley) Whittleton. On December 7,1957 she married Walter Stagowski in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2000. Dorothy had worked at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago, IL as a licensed practical nurse 20 years before retiring to Michigan. She was a resident of Lake Templene for 12 years, and attended St. Clare Catholic Church in Centreville. Surviving Dorothy are her daughter Peggie Krueger, sons Michael Stagg, Richard (Dolores) Stagowski, David Stagowski, sister Jane (Ray) Schultz, Karl (Rita) Whittleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, sister Joan (Whittleton) Beal, brother Tom Whittleton and the late Nancy (John) Loughney and grandson Cody Lee Krueger. Visitation Saturday from 1 to 9pm and Sunday from 3 to 9 pm. Funeral Monday 8:30 a.m. from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home 4950 West 79th St., Burbank to St. Christina Church, Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
