It's been 10 years since you left this earth. So many things have changed, but some things remain the same - you are loved and deeply missed.

God I miss you so much

July 16, 2015

I am reminded frequently that each day should be a blessing and should be celebrated. That tomorrow is not promised. Though I can not say I follow this on a daily basis, I strive to do so. Smile and laugh as often as you can. Do the things that make you happy and always be helpful and kind to others. We all have our struggles. I miss you all the time. I wish that you were still here to share my life with. My ups and my downs. My sorrow and my happiness. To just have one more day. Love you forever.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

I am very sad to learn of the passing of Dorothy. I worked for a few years alongside Dorothy in Chicago Title. Dorothy was a pleasure to work with. She was a very helpful, happy and warm person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. Dorothy was one of a kind and she will be truly missed.

We were each others first friend from the moment we were born. From that day we were known as ‘the twins’. You were the older one – even if only by six minutes. Through the years we looked out for each other, well maybe you were more my protector. As most siblings do, we had our disagreements but never held a grudge and no need for ‘I’m sorry’ because we understood. Although we were twins, we had our own way of doing things, but we love our family, friends and even work wholeheartedly. It hurt me to see you suffering and in pain but even more knowing that there was little I could do to make it go away. So, when you got sick, it was my turn to help you and look out for you. I am so sorry it wasn’t enough!! A part of me went with you the day God called you home. In thinking about the days/years ahead, I can picture many occasions that will be difficult without you here. His plan is unknown and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. For once I am listening to what you told me ‘Stay strong’ – but know that I miss you very much.

Until we see each other again – I Love You!
Always your twin sister.

Dearest Dorothy,
I was there when you started your journey of life, I was there through the ups and downs of your life and I was there when your journey on this earth ended . I will love and miss you so very much untill we meet again.

If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.

My heart's still active in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.

Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay.

God knows why, with chilling touch,
Death gathers those we love so much,
And what now seems so strange and dim,
Will all be clear, when we meet Him.
I love you your big sister

I am sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. I went to high school with her although I was never close to her. I think out of the four years of high school I maybe had one class with her. I'm just so shocked that someone could be taken at such a young age. I'm sure she's in heaven smiling down on her loved ones and I hope her loved ones can find peace and comfort in knowing that. God bless you all, and please accept my sincerest condolences.

Diane and family,
I am soooo terribly sorry about the passing of Dorothy. I just heard the news today. I remember hanging out in homeroom freshman year and how it was nice to tell you to apart. You with your long curly hair and Dorothy with her straight shoulder length hair. She was a wonderful person and I know she will be missed by all. God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.

To the Gorecki Family:

I am stunned to find out that someone I have known and called a friend for many years is gone. Some of my favorite memories of her are going to her house on 55th street and creating havoc. She was such a kind soul, and never said a bad word about anyone. Now, we will live with the memory of her love in our hearts.

All through the night I'll be watching over you
And all through the night I'll be standing over you
And through bad dreams I'll be right there baby
telling you everything's going to be alright
When you cry I'll be there baby
telling you were never nothing less than beautiful
So don't you worry
I'm your angel standing by

Although Dorothy's presence will be truly missed; rejoice that her presence is with now God.

"And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernackle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying; neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things have passed away."

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. Dorothy was truly one of a kind. I loved talking to her as she always made me laugh. We always shared stories on the funny and silly things our dogs did. She had a way to make you feel special. She truly had a love for life and she will be missed by many. She is now our Angel in Heaven looking out for us. May God Bless and comfort you during this difficult time.

To the Family of Dorothy Gorecki
Dorothy's cubicle, here on the fourth floor at Chicago Title, is near my office. I have walked past the silent cubicle for more than a year now, hoping that Dorothy would return and fill it with the sounds of happy and productive work. I was saddened by the news of Dorothy's passing and by the realization that the cubicle will remain quiet and unoccupied.

During her years at Chicago Title, Dorothy helped all of us cheerfully and efficiently. She bailed me--a computer-challenged attorney--out of trouble on numerous occasions. When Dorothy and I worked on an important project in 2006, Dorothy was a great colleague--always pleasant, upbeat, and eager to complete our task on time. She also displayed a great desire to get it right.

It was a pleasure to know and work with Dorothy. I, and many at Chicago Title, will miss her.
