My Beloved Grandmother
Rebecca Guerrero Detente
December 15, 2011
Words cannot express the amount of love that was in my Grandmothers heart. Love for her God & Church, love for her parents, brother & sister and their families. Love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. My Grandmother believed that an open heart & and an open home made a family. It made our family very unique because it stemmed from a very unique person. My Grandmother never smiled more than when her home was full of laughter and warm embraces. After all - that is what was in her heart.
The love between my Grandmother & Grandfather is the kind of love that fairytales are written after. That is why now, at this hard time, we can find peace that she and my Grandpa are in each other's arms enjoying a moonlit dance.
My Grandmothers last years were painful to watch. But, with the love of her family, especially her Johnnie and Mariane, she left this world with a peaceful breath surrounded by those she loved. She left us to be pain free and young again. I know in my heart she will be waiting for us all in heaven the same way she welcomed us into her home – with a beautiful smile and a warm embrace.

Love you Gramma, and miss you. I will always have great memories of visiting you. I know you are at peace now and with Grandpa. Although I'm not able to be in Chicago at this time, I'm thinking about you and will always.

I had the pleasure of being part of your life since 1972 when I met Chris in band. You always welcomed me into your house as part of the family. I hope your new life will be as happy as the one you have had here. You will always be a part of my memories. Rita Martin (Juris)

I am going to miss you like crazy but I am so happy for you that you are back with the love on your life. Its been a long time since I have seen you smile like you did when you danced with Grandpa, but I know in my heart you are smiling ear to ear while you are holding on to your love, dancing the night away.. I love you Grandma, please tell Grandpa we love and miss him too.
