I am so very sorry to learn of Doris' passing. I had a dream of Donna last night that just hit me to the soul and I had a funny feeling that I needed to check on Doris. I know she is in a better place now, with joy and sunshine all the time...and most of all, no pain. Her family is in my prayers.

Doris and I were fellow members of the board of NACM Midwest. We could always count on Doris to speak her mind and ask the hard questions. From my conversations with her I could tell she was like that in the other areas of her life also. She faced her illness with optimism and courage like the other challenges in her life - work, zoning boards and others. I wish I had known her better but still she touched my life and I will miss her.

I was so sorry to hear about Doris. I know she must have gotten great joy from her horses and a great sense of accomplishment from having built her barn herself. I am so glad she was able to spend time at William Woods gaining further knowledge about her passion. I am sure she met many life long friends while she was here in Fulton. I am sorry her life was so short, but I am sure she did more in fewer years than most people do who live a lot longer. Hopefully the horses brought her much happiness, as I am sure they did.

I learned of Doris' passing from Gayle Lampe, an equestrian instructor at William Woods University, in Fulton, Missouri. Although I did not know Doris, I share her love of horses and am so impressed she built her own barn. My heart goes out to her family. May her memories bring comfort to you. Sincerely, Barb
