Although we were never blessed to have met Donna, we felt as though we knew her through her sister Dawn. We prayed that God would spare her life, and let her continue her journey on this Earth to raise her family, and be with those she loved. I believe that God had greater plans for this remarkable, beautiful, warm, caring young woman. Donna's love touched so many people, and her love lives on around everyone who knew her.
When you think of Donna, think of her love like the wind. Although you can't see it or touch it, you can feel it all around you. Her love, always will live on.

My Aunt Donna was like a 2nd Mom to me. She lived with me for almost 1 year. It was the best year of my life. I miss her verrrrrry much, but now she is an angel in Heaven with God. She gets to be with the rest of her family, especially her Father. I am sending up balloons with letters to her so she doesn't forget me. I, also made her a song, that my Mom will put in the balloon to Heaven. The song goes like this:
My Aunt Donna was the best. She is the best, cry, cry. We miss her so much, it broke our hearts when she went, bye, bye. We miss you, We miss you.
I love you very much,

Bill and children, Remember Bill...I knew you "when." Young and married to your childhood sweetheart. I was at your wedding and now recently I have seen the many, many pictures Bill. They were "a lifetime." So much more than some people ever have. You were good together, and nothing can change that. Your childrn are wonderful, beautiful..because of Donna and you. And that Joey--I read your entry about Joey, and he's going to make you and Donna very proud. As will all your children. Your children are so lucky to have had you and Donna for parents. That, too, will never change. They know, now, about beauty, courage, and how precious life truly is. This knowledge can make life richer, and it should. Enjoy all you can. Be, now, as brave as your beautiful Donna. For her, it was easy, because she had you Bill, and the children. She "did" it for you, and it served her well. Now "do" it for her. She needs to "see" that.
I believe she is exists very near us all and is here with you all...still. Where else would she be until you are all together again. Remember, she loves you and is patient, waiting for you all to complete your cycles of life. Look to the blue sky, counsel her during good times and bad, don't ignore the possibility of her special presence in instances of turmoil, her love and spirit is in every face and heart that knows you and your family. Find her there and accept the compassion.
Gosh, I love her smile in her pictures. That's who she wishes to be in your memories. Honor that, as she intended, and you'll be alright...as she intended.
Be well and God bless,
Judy and Bob

To the Beautiful Chovan family,
I am deeply sorry for the loss of Donna. She was like a big sister to me. I will remember her for her strength, dignity, and courage. She has a place in my heart always. I will miss her smile, her laugh and her hugs. She was a shining example of what a wife, mother and friend should be. I am grateful to have had such an AWESOME woman in my life. I feel if everyone in the world had a "Donna" in thier life, the world would be a better place. So until we meet again Bright Eyes, I love you!! Goodbye my sweet friend.

Hi My Beautiful Brown Eyed Girlfriend,
Hi baby, I miss you so much, I don't know what to do w/ all this pain of missing you. I got to see you today, but it wasn't you, just your shell. I can't even believe this all happened, it hasn't sunk in yet. I miss your voice so badly, I call your cell phone to hear your voice. I love the pictures I have of you, I look at them constantly, especially of the one of me kissing you. I promise to look after Will, Joey, Bryan and Tare Bear. I promise you that until the day I leave this earth. I love you Donna Leslie, you taught me alot about love, strength, endurance, God and broken hearts. I went through all the kids baby's books yesterday, they were just lovely. Your heart and love was in all of them. I'll see you tomorrow. Sweet Dreams Angel.

Chovan Family,
I (Lupe) am Joanne Newcomb's co-worker! My husband and I met Donna at the last blood drive.
We want you to know that we had Donna and the family in our prayers and that our hearts go out to all of you. We will continue to pray for strength and for God's understanding in this situation. We pray that His love and peace would be upon all of you in this time of need.
Even though we didn't know her and her family on a personal level. We would like to offer our help in any way possible. May God bless you and hold you in his arms always!

Will and Family,
The hearts and prayers of everyone associated with the Leukemia Research Foundation go out to all of you. Donna was an incredible person and her strength, determination, and character will always place her as a role model for us all. Her commitment to the mission of the LRF was undeniable and we'll continue that fight until a cure is found. Her memory will always be a driving force.
