Donald Stuckly Obituary

Stuckly Sr, Donald J.

Donald J. Stuckly Sr., age 91, of Tinley Park, IL passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, with his loving family at his side. Donald is the loving husband of 64 years to the late Joan L. Stuckly; proud father to Diane (Mike) Tholl, Michael (Evlynne) Stuckly, Cheryl (Ken) Kurek and Don Stuckly; cherished grandfather to Jaclyn (Ross) Tolinski, Lauryn (Frank) Fioretti, Brian (Eleonora) Tholl, Jessica (Sam) Shaner and Kylie Kurek; great-grandfather to Michael, Anthony, Roch, and Angela; devoted son to the late John and Estelle Stuckly; dear brother of the late John Stuckly; cousin to many. Donald was a consummate family man who placed the needs and happiness of his wife and his children before his own. That included raising his family of 6 in an era when it was common to hold down two jobs, which he did early on and for many years after. What leisure time he did have was devoted to his family's welfare including helping with homework and other school activities. Don introduced his children to sports as both fans and participants. He helped coach his sons in youth baseball and basketball. Don was an avid 16" softball player who was a well known star around the new Tinley Park Softball League that was started up around 1970 by the late Father Gleason of St. George Church. Those softball games were a chief source of joy and entertainment for him and his family for many years and they created lasting memories. A man of strong faith Don stood out as an example to his family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Brady-Gill Funeral Home (16600 S. Oak Park Ave.; Tinley Park, IL 60477). And again from 8:30 am on Friday, September 5, 2025 until time of prayers at 9:15 am at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Friday at St. George Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
