Stephens, Hon. Donald E. Mayor, Village of Rosemont, IL. Loving husband of Katherine (nee Murphy), cherished father of Donald E. Stephens II (Kathy, nee Nicholas), Mark R. Stephens (Lisa, nee Strauss), Gail Ann Stephens, Bradley A. Stephens, caring grandfather to Donald E. III, Christopher R. (Nicole, nee Fritz), Jacqueline, Brittany Rosemont, Raquel, Mark Donald, Bradley, Kaila Ann, Danny, Michelle, Tiana, Mark Jr., former beloved spouse of Pat (nee Patronski), dear brother of Arthur Stephens and the late Ralph Stephens, step-brother of Robert Green and Dolores Drozt, cherished son of the late Thelma (nee Henning) and the late Arthur Drew Stephens and beloved relation to numerous extended family members, living and deceased. Mayor Stephens has been the Village of Rosemont's only mayor for the past 51 years, making him the longest holder of a mayoral office in Illinois history. Visitation Sunday, April 22nd, 2 p.m. 9 p.m., at Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road, Rosemont. Funeral Monday, April 23, 10 a.m., also at the Rosemont Theatre. Mayor Stephens was a one-in-a-million man and a larger-than-life political figure. I was fortunate to live in Rosemont for quite a number of years and serve on the auxiliary. He will live on forever in his village and in the hearts and minds of all whom he touched.
