Donald Munro Obituary

Donald G. Munro of Billerica, formerly of Chelmsford; 89 -- BILLERICA -- Donald G. Munro, of Billerica, formerly of Chelmsford, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at Palm Center Rehab with his family at his side. He was married to the late Marion (Booth) Munro who died August 28, 2001. Born in Canada on December 24, 1923, the son of the late Gilbert and Ethel (Babcock) Munro. Donald graduated from high school in Canada. During WWII, he was a mechanic for the Canadian Army. He moved from Canada in 1963 to the Chelmsford Area and graduated UMASS Lowell class of 1977. He worked as a mechanic for Avco, now known as Textron, while attending UMASS Lowell. -- He retired from Avco as a mechanical engineer. Donald enjoyed skiing the Balsams in northern New Hampshire. He also enjoyed golf and played for many years locally at Trull Brook in Tewksbury. He was an avid New England sports fan. He is survived by three children, Donald and his wife, Lori (Wright) Munro of Merrimack, NH, Douglas R. and his wife, Kathy (Grybko) Munro of Billerica, Lindy Pallo and her husband, Mark of Lowell; a brother and two sisters, Bill, Dot and Ruth all of Canada; five grandchildren, Kathy (Tennant) Wilson of Chelmsford, Doug and his wife, Jennifer Coleman-Munro of Chelmsford, April Munro of Billerica, Heather Munro of Merrimack, and Ryan and his wife, Julia (Breger) Munro of Cambridge; a great-granddaughter, Sarah Wilson of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Joyce, Ena, Marg, and Bob. MUNRO -- Donald G. Munro of Billerica, formerly of Chelmsford, died Friday, July 5, 2013.
