Dear Gale,

Elsie and I would like to offer our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Don was one hec of a guy with a great sense of humor. We had many good times together and my memories of knowing him will be cherished. I'm so sorry we're unable to attend the funeral service but prior commitments deem it impossible. He was and will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers as will you and your family. Chuck & Elsie Salvo

It is hard to put into words how truly grateful I am to have known Mr. Martin. Mr. Martin was someone I looked up to, respected and learned a lot from. Having Mr. Martin and his family as neighbors has given me some great memories and brothers I always wished I had. I am grateful for his great Friday Night Football videos, which he was kind enough to allow me to copy. Without these videos I would not have the good memories of the funny names Mr. Martin called me, such as, “Irish Cream”. I will never forget these happy times. Also, watching the State Championship game video and listening to Mr. Martin’s commentaries makes it even more fun and memorable. I will miss Mr. Martin, but will cherish the memories and never forget all the fun times we had.

Gail it doesn’t matter what words I use to express how deeply sadden I feel they will be inadequate. Don and I shared a unique friendship spanning almost 27 years. Starting out as just mutual respect for each other as co-workers, growing into admiration of each other as friends and evolving in the last few years into a closeness that I think neither one of us fully understood until the last time that I saw him. I hope that in time the closeness that Don and I shared will ease the pain that I feel for the loss of your beloved husband and father of three wonderful young men.

Don was such a great friend too so many people at P&R . He had that rare quality lacking in so many people, the ability to talk to anyone as if he had known them all of his life and you always knew where you stood with him. I know in time the hurt will go away and perhaps my memories will begin to fade, yet I know in my heart that the laughs and tears that Don and I shared together will always keep him alive in my mind.

May God bless you, Jeff, Justin and Jake

No words can express the sorrow we feel of the passing of such a wonderful and respected person as Don. His unselfish giving of himself to others will always be remembered by so many who he has touched. We pray for his family in their time of grief and that they find comfort in memories of such a loving husband and father.

To The Martin Family,

Please accept our sincerest condolences during this sad time. We know that Don was a wonderful husband, devoted father and cherished friend to many. He was the only man that ever made me feel "jealous" that I was not blessed with sons. I realized what I was missing when I saw that "twinkle" in his eyes when he watched them play football or do yard work or swim in the pool, no one on earth could be more proud of their sons than Don was of Jeff, Justin and Jake. Life around the neighborhood will no longer be the same without Don, he was a gentle man that always had something kind to say and a warm smile to let you know that every word was sincere.

God Bless You All..........
