Canandaigua/Penn Yan - Donald Scott Lambert, Sr., age 94, of Canandaigua, NY, passed away at Serenity House, a hospice home in Victor, NY, on July 27, 2014.
Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home, Inc. of Gorham, NY, is providing funeral services. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan, for family only. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service of Remembrance at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 332 Main St., Penn Yan, NY, on Wednesday (July 30), at 2:00 p.m.
The family of Donald Scott Lambert wishes to thank Serenity House for wonderful and compassionate care extended to Donald and his entire family during his last days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Serenity House, 1278 Brace Road, Victor, NY 14564.
As a young man Donald farmed with his father, and then owned his own farm until it was sold; after which he worked at the New York State Experiment Station in Geneva, NY, until retirement. He enjoyed working with saddle horses all his life. Donald's faith in God was very important to him and he told stories about asking Jesus to be his savior as a young man.
Donald is survived by his children, Virginia Brightland of Brattleboro, Vermont; Christopher and Alma Lambert of Geneva, NY, and Jeanne and Michael Kinsey of South Bend, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Kathy Lambert Styer; former son-in-law, John (Peggy) Stetzel; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Leola Melious; and brothers, Edward (Eleanor) Lambert and Leonard (Helen) Lambert.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Simonsen Lambert; his son, Donald Scott Lambert, Jr.; and two sisters, Clara Saunderson and Mildred Woodley, both of Geneva, NY.
