I was your neighbor at 220 Central Ave. from 1984-1988, when our house still had no insulation.

I am sorry for your loss. May his memory always be a blessing.

I always enjoyed Don and his interest in the Opera. His enthusiasm was warm and wonderful. Don was the first person to describe me as having a mustache (after thirteen years trying to grow one.) I will remember him with affection.

Dear Fern, My most heartfelt condolences. I knew Don (Donnie) as a child. He was my neighbor and a good friend of my brother, Sanford. I remember their playing ball in the street on Colfax Avenue. I remember well his parents. I knew most of his childhood friends. About 20 years ago I ran into Don in the CBOT building. We chatted for some time and he told me he had had a by-pass. I am so very sorry for all the troubles all of you went through. May God grant you and your family peace. With loving regard, Janet Bacon

To Fern and her family my deepest sympathy on their loss.

I fondly remember meeting and working with Don 15 years ago at the beginning of my volunteer career with Lyric Opera of Chicago when Don and I worked the Operathon tabulation table. Since then I have enjoyed his sense of humor and will miss his warmth and his smile.
