Donald Giampaolo Obituary

As a young man entering the Elevator Industry, one of Mr. Giampaolo's jobs was the management of the educational fund for Otis elevator. I had completed the additional electrical classes that I took at Coyne electrical Institute and brought my papers in to be entered in my employee files, upon receiving the paperwork I was about to leave when Don Stopped me told me to take a seat, that he would be back shortly. When Don returned he had a check for $1800.00 for me for the entire amount that the Veterans administration paid Coyne. This was a lot of money for me and my young wife expecting our first child in 1980. I explained that it wasn't necessary because the veterans admin paid for it already. Mr Giampaolo told me no kid this is for you, for successfully completing the classes, well needless to say even in retirement now this is something that is vivid in my mind today and is charished as a memory that will never be forgotten this is why I personally believe that we should never forget the greatest generation that ever exsisted. Your fathers, our fathers, our grandfathers gave us what we have today. Lets hold on to these memories and charish, The Greatest Generation that ever lived!! Don, Rest in Peace, you'll never be forgotten!

As a long time friend to Don and Aileen I remember time spent visiting in Minneapolis and Wild Rose,Wisconsin.Don and I spent many long years in the elevator industry. I am sad to hear of his passing

To me he defined and was part of "The Greatest Generation".

Although I was not a member of the family, he made me feel special none the less. I will always remember him fondly.

Thanks for saving Me. Now I'm the old guy looking in.
