RIP DEAR FRIEND
Kelly Moore

I just found out about Diane's passing today. I am extremely upset and I am so sorry for her family's loss. I worked with her at O'Keefe and she was always so generous and funny. She always made me feel welcome even was I was a file clerk. She did so much for animals everywhere, and I hope her legacy will continue.

I took this picture of Diane Samuels in the park, summer of 1976 - This is one gorgeous woman - Wow! Lot's of Dogs. - Howard Borde

Diane was a neighbor for over 20 years. We called her the "Dog Lady" because she had eight dogs (and some cats) when we moved to Altgeld Street. I missed seeing her beautiful red hair when she moved to Sandburg, but did see her occasionally in Lincoln Park. Diane will be remembered for her passion for animals and their welfare. We will miss her.

Dear Elliot & Family,
I only knew Diane for a short time. But she made a great difference in my life. It was because of her that I now have my Peanut. She brought much needed happiness to me and my family. And a great home with lots of love to a little guy that needed it. She will be missed.

Dear Ellliott and Family:
I was so sad to hear of Diane's passing. I have been a friend of Diane's for the past 20+ years. I worked with Diane at the O'Keefe law firm and have kept in touch with her often since I left the firm to move to Madison. Diane was a treasure of a friend and I will miss her frequent phone calls.

I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of my friend Diane. I did not find out until today (3/13/06) in the form of an email from a mutual animal lover. I was Diane's answer to any plumbing
problems and I will miss her calls,
her endless energy, and her amazing spirit. My condolences to the family. Diane, I will miss you!

I received news of the passage of my dear friend, Diane with great sadness, she was a beautiful young woman, a beautiful soul...who I will remember always as a sweet young school mate of mine from Oxford School in Miami Beach, Florida...in the 50's.
So sad.

The the family of Diane, I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I went to High School with Diane and She was a member of Jazell's our 4 year club. I knew her to be a beautiful individual who always carried herself very proudly. It was an honor to know her and the world is a sadder place without her.

I have never known anyone better with animals. I lived on Altgeld St and watched Diane take in strays with great affection. I kept up with Diane through the years, even after I moved to California, and the conversation always turned to our shared love of dogs and cats. She was a dear friend and will be sorely missed.

For Diane's Family-She was a wonderful lady. I worked with her at O'Keefe. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a great sense of loyalty to her family and friends. She treated everyone with respect. She will be greatly missed.

I fell in love with Diane the moment I saw her walking her Yorkshire terrier, Holly, along the lakefront back in the late 70's; I've never had a truer friend. Between us, we've had over a dozen neglected dogs we called our family. They loved us and we loved them. I'm sure Diane and all her departed furry friends met in the afterlife and have crossed the Rainbow Bridge together. My heart is breaking.
