Diane taught us all how to live and love and really to forgive and carry on. She was a vibrant gorgeous and brilliant woman who was diagnosed with ALS 20 years ago and lived and grew and loved regardless of the disease. Her spirit was indomitable andshe laughed and smiled and beamed her love until the very end of her life. She lived and survived for the love of her children and was determined to serve them and guide them no matter what the costto herself. Prior to her illness she was an accomplished businesswoman andyoga and dancer and long distanceswimmer with an incredible physique which withered down to 50 pounds at the time of her deathyet she never complained and instead would always cheer and compliment whomever came into her midst. She was a woman's woman and was dearlybeloved by supremely devoted friends. She will be so deeply missed and we will always remember her and we will always love her so dearly. It will be a year in a few days since you left us, Diane, but not a single day goes by without me thinking about you and the wonderful times we spent together. Now that you are in the most exotic vacation destination, I wonder how you are spending it!

Dear Steve, Michael, Anthony & Peter,
I express to you my deepest condolences. May Diane rest in peace! She definitely is with the Lord now.

The first time I met Diane was in one of those Indian gatherings. She was friendly, strikingly gorgeous, stylish, bright, cheerful and pleasant, and these attributes she preserved until the very end. I cherish our long friendship and a lot of great memories; our trip to India- her "best vacation", our numerous rosary meetings in her house, deck and our houses, visits to restaurants, etc. Diane was in charge not only of her life but ours as well. She was frail and wheelchair-bound but amazingly strong, influencial and productive. She got so much accomplished for so many people through so many people. Her thoughtfulness, understanding and generosity saw no bounds. I gratefully remember the many gifts she gave me on various occasions including my graduation birthdays and wedding.

I remember Diane's lengthy struggle with her chronic illness, but at the same time I will also always remember her bright smile, infectious laughs and wild goofiness. I just cannot imagine us meeting again for rosaries without Diane, because it was Diane who scheduled them whether it was for our birthdays, Christmas or one of us was in need of a special prayer. Yes, we had our last rosary-the Christmas Rosary- in December, not knowing it was going to be our last one together.

Diane, you have been a great source of inspiration to those of us who came to know you well. You showed us that physical incapabilities and tragedies and loss of hopes and dreams do not have to destroy the human spirit, wipe away the smile, or make us succumb to despondency. You are a brave soul who left us with a great deal of reasons to smile about. We will miss you.

Diane was a woman who showed me that nothing in life is unsurmountable when you have family, friends, and love all around you. She showed us the beauty of the world with her kind spirit, and those who were fortunate enough to have experienced her smile were very blessed. A role model to all; she had her mother's strength.

Steve, sons, and family,
I didn't know your mother personally, only through your mother-in-law and grandmother, Jeanette. In reading the obituary about Diane, I believe Diane was very much like her mother - loving, caring, courageous, generous, selfless, always thinking of others. I know Diane will be greatly missed by you. Be assured of my prayers and sympathy at this time of loss. May Diane now be enjoying eternal happiness. May God's love and presence be with all of you!
