I will forever thank you for being so nice to me, helping me learn how to play the guitar and teaching me about sales. You left so young and I miss your friendship. I see your beautiful wife and son on social media and know you would be so proud of them. Victors son Tristan is with you know and so hope you two are playing guitar together and looking over all of us. Much love, Tracy

I miss you Dave. You taught me so much and you and Alison never judged me. I will never forget how you taught me to play guitar. Over the Hills and Far away❤. You were my favorite boss to work for too and I still remember things you taught me. I also remember you selling your 2 for 1 free hot dog to the newbies in the sales pit. Hahahah. Until we meet again my friend.

Dear Stiefel Family-

I returned to my office today and spoke with Cindy who broke this unbelievably bad news. I am stunned and so profoundly sad. David was a premier vendor for our company, was responsible for a giant leap forward in our marketing communications technology and was such a great man. His smile, warmth and business acumen were such great qualities. We shared a love of boating and recreation and we always found time to work in fun talk during our meetings about life's ups and downs, current events etc. He was a great sales guy- he always made you feel as if you were the only client he had and he truly did care about your life outside the office. I will deeply miss his counsel and his friendship. I hope all of you find comfort in the quality of his life- no matter the quantity was cut so short. He was a great man- and know that he will be missed by so many and remembered as a special special person. Our deepest sympathy to all of you and know we mourn with you.

Allison-
David was such a great great guy! Working for David as a sales rep at Minolta was my first job out of college. We had lots of laughs together. One of my vivid memories of David was after a Monday morning meeting he would have everyone go around and tell a fun story of their weekend. When it go to David's turn he would glow telling stories of all the fun things you two did over the weekend. He thought you were just the greatest thing ever Al. I have never had the chance to meet Daniel ~ however I can only imagine how proud he was of you. He lived his life, he did what he loved and gave it his all. He will be missed. You are in my prayers and thoughts.

I am so glad that I was lucky enough to know David and Allison. I have many fond memories of President's Club trips where I was with them and laughed so hard I couldn't catch my breath.

But, more importantly, as I reflect on the years I've known him, I realize that David taught me a valuable lesson. One of the many things that made him remarkable was his fearlessness. No matter what he did--tennis, golf, boating, singing or selling--it never entered his mind he might fail. As a result, he succeeded at just about everything he did.

And when David was around, even if you were afraid, you felt like he had your back and would do anything he could to help you win too . . . so you did much of the time. He just had a miraculous effect on people.

I only hope that I can build on what he taught me. But I know I will never forget him.

We send our deepest sympathies to Allison, Danny and all of David's family and friends.

Stiefel Family,
We were so very sorry to learn of David's tragic passing. I had talked about David several times over the past before we had heard the news. The awesome time I had on your boat and going thru the canal. Easting sushi and having bugs stuck on our foreheads from going so fast on that boat you test drove.

The great time we had when you guys stayed with us and how I have not had Grey Goose since.

He was a very special guy. He excelled at so many things. He was fun to be with.

We will miss him a lot.

Allison, Danny & Family,

I work with ThomasNet and run a territory in the Midwest and have known your husband, dad, son and friend over the past four years. He is such a great guy - smart, funny and very motivated to be the best. He and I, over the years, exchanged some ideas to help each other get better and he gave me some things that we use daily in our management of the Tnet business. I will really miss seeing and interacting with him mostly because of who he was. My prayers will be that God give you the stength to endure this loss in your lives and that the bright light that he was in so many lives, continue to burn brightly each day in yours. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with you.

April 6, 2011

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Stiefel & family,

I was sorry to hear about Dave. We were friends at Edgewood and HPHS. Like many, we lost touch after college.

However, the one time we saw each other years later, it led to the "racquetball match for the ages!" Back and forth..he's up, I'm up. I seem to remember a 100 mile per hour Stiefel forehand to the back of my calf. Still stings. When we played--that ball was moving. It was a two all tie and just like our intense ping-pong and pool matches...we had a blast.

I'm very sorry for your loss. My condolences to you all.

Sincerely,

Peter Lipsey

Dear Stiefel Family,
It’s been so hard to concentrate after learning of David’s death. It serves as a reminder that life is fragile and too short. Though I have never met David face to face, I had the good fortune to know and work with David mainly through the telephone over the last several years and come to respect him not just as a person but as a leader. I will truly miss working with him and hearing his ideas. Please know that you have my deepest sympathy in your loss of a person who was important in so many ways to so many people. I know that there is little I can say to console you but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this tragic time. May he rest in peace in his eternal life and be the angel that carries you through life.

A big hug to you.
