Thank you Mr. Soyer for all the beautiful music you left for the world to still enjoy. Thank you for your dedication to your students. May God bless your family and all who knew and loved you. We will miss you.

I loved learning from David while at Curtis and know it is his influence that has driven my playing and my love of string quartets over the following years. He once demonstrated his own lush, fabulous sound on my very inferior cello to make the point that our instruments are secondary to what's inside us. Later, as a starving young artist in NYC, I took a job as an usher at the art museum just so I could get into Guarneri concerts for free. David made this world a better place! My love and thanks to David's family.
