Dave Mullins Obituary

Dave Mullins died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the age of 71, surrounded by his beloved wife Peg, granddaughter, Lindsay and Reverend Mary Davis of the St. John's Episcopal Church, from complications of his courageous 8 year battle with cancer.

Born September 27, 1937, David Eugene was one of five sons of the late Joseph Eugene and Iva (Bowery) Mullins. Dave was raised in Pampa, Texas where he attended school until he graduated in 1956. On February 14, 1959 he and Peggy Olivilo were united in marriage in Pampa. Dave and Peg were married for 50 years this year. September of 1959, Dave and Peg moved to Sacramento, California where he was a Zone Manager for the Ford Motor Company until 1982. Dave and Peg then moved to Woodward acquiring Marie's Villa, a family business began by Peg's mother, Marie Olivilo. In 2006, Dave and Peg retired.

Dave remained close friends with Pampa classmates, California friends, and Woodward friends to the end. Dave, even when struggling with his illness, took care of the needs of his family and loved us all. Dave, with his beautiful heart, taught us that love is all there is.

Dave was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church.

Dave is survived by his wife Peg; his daughter, Shannon Highfill of Lawton; his grandchildren, Lindsay Highfill and Chad Judkins of Woodward; Lance Highfill of Oklahoma City; Landon and Nicole Highfill of Woodward; his brothers, John and Carol Mullins of Yuma, Arizona; Marc and Cheryl Mullins and their daughter Madison of Austin, Texas; his very special cousin, Connie Courtney of Fort Worth, Texas; his very special niece, Debbie and Joe Powders and their daughters, Kelsey, Jessie and Baylee of Woodward; other relatives and many wonderful friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Iva and Joseph Mullins; his brothers Tommy Mullins and Ronnie Mullins and his mother-in-law, Marie Olivilo.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the St. John's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Mary Davis, Vicar officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
