Danny L. Sharpe, age 64 of Fulton, Ohio went to live with our Lord on September 20th, 2015. Danny became ill from meningitis that spread to his brain and caused an infection that he never recovered from. Danny was surrounded by loved ones throughout this entire process. At the time of his passing he was with his loving wife of 44 years Cynthia Louise Sharpe. Danny passed away with grace and dignity just as he lived his life.
Danny Sharpe was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on May 16th, 1951 to Willie Fred Sharpe and Virginia Daniels Connolly. Danny was a Vietnam War Veteran and spent many years in the U.S. Army before retiring as a Sergeant First Class with an Honorable Discharge in 1985. Danny married the love of his life Cynthia Long on July 10th, 1971. They had three children Tara Anne Sharpe, Jeremiah Bryant Sharpe, and Roseanne Abagail Sharpe. After retiring from the Army, Danny went to college where he graduated from Marion Technical College. He then worked in IT until he finally retired for good.
Later in his life Danny and Cindy Sharpe took the responsibility of raising four grandchildren, Rachel, Rebekah, Isabel, and Veronika Garcia. Danny lovingly raised these four girls to become the wonderful young women they are today. Danny was a devoted member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Marengo, Ohio where he was a Deacon and leader. Danny was saved and baptized in the waters of Jesus Christ.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Sharpe, daughter, Tara Garcia, son, Jeremiah Sharpe, mother, Virginia Connolly, brother, David Sharpe, sister, Sharon Vickery, brother-in-law, Kevin Long, brother-in-law, Larry (Carol) Long, step-brother, Raymond Connolly, six grandchildren: Rachel, Rebekah, Elijah, Reagan, Isabel, Veronika, and nephew Willie Vickery.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Willie Fred Sharpe, his step-father Raymond Connolly, and his daughter, Roseanne Abagail Sharpe.
The family wishes for people to know that Danny will be missed dearly. Danny was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. Family was important to Danny and he lived his life serving those he loved. Danny was a caring and giving man who would go without so others would never have to. The world has lost a great man that all who met him were blessed by his presence.
Friends may call on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10 am to 12 pm with the funeral service following at 12 pm at the Harmony Baptist Church, 5142 County Road 25, Marengo. Pastor Jason Martin will be officiating. Following the service the burial will take place in the Chesterville Cemetery.
