Tarry, Daniel Carmen 81, of Leesburg, FL and formerly of West Chicago, IL, died June 21, 2006 at Arbor Village in Wildwood, FL. He was born July 16, 1924 in Oak Park, IL. The son of Alexander and Elsie Tarry. Dan was a World War II veteran who served as a medic in the United States Army. Dan moved to West Chicago in 1960 with his wife Barbara, where they lived until 1973 when Dan moved to Arlington Heights, IL. Dan retired to Leesburg, FL upon retirement. Mr. Tarry was a former DuPage County Health Inspector. He volunteered in many aspects regarding public health and safety. He also was integral in establishing the 911 service in DuPage County. He and Barbara were charter members at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in West Chicago. Survivors include his second wife, Donna with whom he has been married to for 30 years; four children, Danielle Tarry of Novato, CA, Sandra (Ron) Wallace of Long Beach, MS, Patricia (Phillip) Pacelt of West Chicago, IL, Douglas Tarry of Lockport, IL; four grandchildren, Geramy (Tracy) Gritt, WI; Stacy (Roger) Kwiatt, AZ; Samantha Wallace, MS; Shonda Martens, IL; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by loving parents; one brother; two sisters; son, Dean Charles; and grandson, Geoffrey. A private service will be held in Leesburg, FL. Dan was a good man and I enjoyed working with him at the Arlington Heights Health Department.
