Time flies , I can't believe it's been ? Eight Years? I have the picture Of Dan and our unit in My home and think of him often. He was a GREAT Solider and Friend. I could always count on Dan. He helped me survive the worst year of the Vietnam war 1968. Our world and Country is better off because of people like Dan. Dan you are my hero , I'd love to sit and talk with you again...... God Bless you, Dan. Can't believe it's been a year. I still miss you!

Roczniak Family,
I saw in the ComEd behind the lines newspaper that Dan had passed. I am very sad to hear this news. I worked with Dan the Harvey Headquarters back in the 80's and would run into him periodically. I always enjoyed his sense of humor. I would ask him "how's sweet Loretta"? And he would always say my mom or my wife, they are both named Loretta. I hope your memories of Dan carry you through life with a smile. He will be missed by many ~ My sincere sympathy to you.

I met Dan while working with him at Patrick Engineering after he had retired from ComEd. He was a mentor to me and one of the few people I worked with that I considered a friend. He was kind and always interested in more than just the job at hand. That is, he enjoyed being in the company of others and seemed to enjoy learning more about the person he was working with than actually working. Which influenced me to learn more about those that I worked with ever since. He had a knack for asking me questions, when he knew the answer...always trying to teach me something new, but in a way that made me feel like his peer rather than his student. I enjoyed working with him and will miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Dan worked with me at ComEd for many years and I consider him a good friend and hardworker. He will be missed. Our condolences.

I knew Mr. Roczniak because he was the father of my best friend Cathy. He was always such a friendly man and his love for his family was so evident every time you were around him. He was gentle, hardworking, strong in faith, charismatic and kind. I always felt safe and comfortable when I was in his home at a sleep-over, or smelt fishing on a pier with he and Cathy. As his daughter and I have grown into women, I've had the pleasure of seeing he and Mrs. Roczniak enjoy their beautiful 4 granddaughters. My heart is heavy for Lori, Teresa, Ben, Jenna, Cara, Cat, Brian, Claire and Anna. May their shared faith continue to comfort them and may all those who were touched by Dan, find peace in knowing his suffering has come to an end and that we will all see him again when our earthly time is over. Mr. Roczniak, my memories of you will always be of a man who fought for our country with pride and I'll remember how much you cherished your family, friends and all the Vietnam Veterans you continued to meet up with on a regular basis. Most of all, I'll forever be grateful for your part in raising a strong, intelligent, friendly and kind woman who will forever hold the place of Best Friend in my life. Rest in Peace with Our Heavenly Father.

What can I say about a lifelong friend? Dan and I grew up in the 60's, I learned how to play pool at his Mom and Dad's home in Alsip, hung out at Raceway Park where we both found our love for Fast Cars, we were even drafted into the Army together on the same day in 1967. In 1970, Dan honored me by being the Best Man at my wedding. Later, we enjoyed the lives we made and eventually made it to retirement. I will forever miss my buddy, Boone, as I liked to call him. He's leaving a huge void that can only be filled by tons of memories of happy days!

Daniel Roczniak from the very first time I met Dan On an LZ in Vietnam until the last time I saw him at a Vietnam Reunion he was always a person of great honor and class. Dan and I were together in impossible times and good times. Our Country is Great because of people like Dan and he will be missed by many. I miss him and regret I didn't take the time to visit with him more.
