Since hearing of Dana's passing, I have felt compelled to leave some type of note of sympathy for those who loved and cherished this wonderful woman all the days of her, too short, 28 years. I just didn't know quite what to say as I didn't know, know her. So, I just kept procrastinating. Today, as she is being laid to rest, I just couldn't get her and all of her family and friends out of my mind. Especially Eileen, Joe and Dale as my heart just aches for them. So, here is what I will say, I've followed some of her journey by reading Dale's Facebook posts and updates about Dana's journey and prayed for her and hoped all would be well one day soon and really just believed she would "beat the heck out of that cancer"! The ending this journey did have, is just not fair! While it is not for man to question the Lord's reasons, it is our natural response to ask, "Why!?" No matter the reason, please know this, your precious Dana is an inspiration and a symbol of strength, for me and will be for the rest of my days and I am certain so many others feel the same. May Dana, a beautiful soul, rest in tender peace. Eileen, Joe, Dale and all who loved this remarkable woman, take comfort amongst one another during this a very sad and difficult time by sharing everything that was wonderful about Dana. I only have a distant memory of Dana, as a child. Eileen gave birth to Dana just about a year before I had my daughter. I attended school with her mom and also know her dad, Joe, being in the same circle of friends. While I didn't know Dana personally, I know so many people whose lives she touched and through them, she touched my life as well. She is an angel who God took to soon. I'm sure we have all learned lessons from her fight and hope those lessons and memories will keep her close to all.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I didn't know Dana but knew the family of Dana. She was to young to go but is now in a better place God calls on the ones needed he must have a plan for Dana.God Bless the families.

Dana will forever be missed

my prayers and my mom prayers are with you all. I didn't know dana like all you do, I met her and her boyfriend before they got married, at st gabs school hall for mass last year, I was sitting with her grandma goga. even though we didn't talk I felt that she was a very special sweet caring person I could see it in her eyes. God bless her and rest in peace beautiful girl.

I am happy we shared the same passion- helping others (service work). If it was not for our passion, we would have never been in our special FOI group and we would have never met. I remember asking you to come to Pi Phi to check it out and how nervous I was to ask you! I was afraid you were going to reject me and the house. Instead, you accepted my invitation and your bid to be apart of the wonderful organization of women for 4 years. Throughout all the years, the heartaches, drama, and nights we cannot remember, our friendshiped survived. I am happy that I was able to call you my sister and friend. I will never forget our 2 hour conversations as we drove back to ISU, our 6 person room, dave concerts, adventures to IWU, frat parties (especially our PJ one!), dinners at Maggianos, texts and I-Ms! You were always a friend that was around and it is going to be very hard not to have you here.
I am thankful for the time we had together, especially all the time we spent this last year together. I am so happy that I was able to stand beside you on your wedding day! I love you Dana (Dale, Eileen and family!). You will always be in my heart.
