I was the "head flunky," (my term) at St. Clotilde on the south east side of Chicago for number of years in the 1980's. Curley was a parishioner who could never do enough to help others. He was THE picture of the love of God and Love of Neighbor. There was never a time that he was without a smile and a readiness to make my life and the lives of those around him better. I long a little more for the day of Resurrection, when I will be with Curley again. The blessings that God brought into the world through Curley are still with me each day, and are a part of the eternal life of heaven. This is why, although I did lose touch with him, Fritz and Butch, over the years, I know that I am still part of his/their lives in Spirit.

My condolences to the Russell family. Curley will truly be missed at Harris.

Curley was one of a kind. I will always remember his warm smile and gentle disposition. He will truly be missed.

Curley will truly be missed at Harris. His wonderful smile along with "Hi, Doll" or "Good Morning, Young Lady" brightened many of my days. And that voice! Who could forget it or him? It was always a pleasure to see him.

Curley was such a joy to know. His "Hi Doll" and beautiful smile would always bring a smile to my face. I am honored to have been a part of Curleys life.

You are surely going to be missed. When you walked into the room your smiled brighten it like the sun. Your company made everything that was going bad that day be forgotten. We never did find out where your fountain of youth was. Your were amazing. To the Russell Family: My deepest sympathy. You can be sure that Curley had many friends down here on earth and will have more up in heaven. I am sure that he is smiling down on all of us. He was such a great man and will truly be missed by many. You all should be proud of him to have had him as part of your family. Remember to keep his smile going.

Curley was always happy, outgoing and always full of life. His vivacious personality brought a smile to those touched by him. He will be remembered by all at Harris.

I met Curley early on when I came to Harris because he recognized my last name and remembered working with my Dad at C.T.A. I saw Curley the morning of Thursday, June 30th. He mentioned a recent loss of appetitie and ended the converstion by saying one way or the other, I had a good life. I have a great family and I've lived well. Rest in peace Curley, we shall all miss your infectious smile. I agree, from all the fun stuff Curley shared about his family, he had a great life.

Curly will be greatly missed. His big smile and "Hi Doll" always brightened my day. Harris just won't be the same without him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

It was an honor to know Curley. He was a man without equal. He always had a smile and something to say to brighten your day. Whatever he did, he did to the best of his ability and with pride. I worked at the bank for 18 years and my husband works there still. Even though I have been gone from the bank for 7 years, whenever he saw my husband, he still asked after me and said to wish me the best. Curley will be sorely missed by all.

Curly was a distinquished man, a smile, a 'hi doll' and your day was made. I have only one regret and that is that I did not get a chance to say farewell to one of the most lovable, kind fellows that I have encountered in my 27 years at the 'Harris'. Curly, 'I will miss you and hold a special place in my heart for you always'. To your family, please always remember his smile and that he loved all of you dearly.

Tuesday, July 5 was a sad day for me and my colleagues here at the Harris. That was when I heard the news about Curley. I can honestly say that my heart sank. I feel blessed to have know such a kind, gentle and loving soul that he was. The sight of him just made me smile because no matter how bad of a day I might be having, Curley's bright smile always made me feel better. I just knew he was going to live forever. Curley will be genuinely missed. I extend my deepest and heartfelt sympathy. God Bless you Curley.

My deepest condolences. Curley has touched many people at Harris Bank as you can see. He has had a smile. He made the hello's, the how are you's, the have a nice day's sincere in a changing corporate world. I'm only one of many who is saddened and who will miss him and think of him often.

I am very sadden at the passing of this dear man. He was one of the most pleasant employees that Harris had. He always had a smile and a kind word to say. May the Lord Bless you and keep you and be a comfort to you in this time of sorrow. We all look forward to the day that we will see Curley and his delightful smile again.

My heart goes out to the family of Curly Russell. He will truly be missed at Harris N.A. I've had the pleasure of knowing Curly for many years and will always remember that contagious smile. He is smiling down on us and we will smile every time we think of him.

A few years ago I was in contact with Curley daily signing for packages. The last time I waw him was about three weeks ago. I must tell you -- I am sadden by this news. No one will ever be able to take his place in messenger service. You see Curley was the type of person you welcomed to your desk -- why? because he always had a smile and a good word for the day. He use to walk up to my desk and say "hi doll" and I would look up to that beautiful smile. I would say something funny and he would give me the unique laugh. I loved always talking with Curley. He was an interesting man. We talked about everything from when the southside was undeveloped to his nephew Rudy (who use to work here also) and daughter-in-law Millicent. I told him I had quit smoking in 03, and that I got some tips from the American Cancer Society. He asked me to order a kit for Millicent. I galdy ordered the kit. He thanked me later. He really admired her and the way she handled all that food during the Thanksgiving and/or Christmas dinners. He also talked about Fritz, Bucht, and Ray.



To the entire Russel family I have lost a friend here at Harris.

Russell family, you have my deepest sympathy. Curley was a warm ray of sunshine, wonderful person and co-worker, who loved people, and, especially his family. Curley always spoke lovingly and proudly about his sons and grandsons. I will miss Curley.

I have worked at the bank for 20 years and have know Curley for a long time. He used to come to our area with a big smile and would always ask about my family and he would always talk about his wife and kids. My prayers goes out to his wife and kids. He will be missed dearly at Harris. I will especially miss his smile and his friendliness. May he rest in peace.

He had such a wealth of knowledge and such interesting stories to share about his life experiences. His pride in his family always shone so brightly. In a world that is filled with so much darkness and negativity, Curly's "light" was always shining. He was a blessing to whomever he came in contact with and will be dearly missed. I encourage the family to lift up their heads and their eyes towards heaven. Curly showed us what "living a life" is all about.

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Curley's long season with those he loved and those who loved him has ended, but the love lives on forever. My deepest sympathy goes to his family and close friends. May God give you peace.

Curley was one of the nicest men I ever met. His warm smile and pleasant disposition will always be remembered. It is nice to know that he had such a loving family. God bless you all.

Curley Russell inspired me to freely give the gift of a warm smile and positive energy as often as I could for this is what he gave to me. Curley has always been a man that I admired greatly. He enriched the bank tremendously with his presence.

I recently marked my 25th year anniversary of being employed at Harris Bank. Curley took time out of his busy schedule to personally congratulate me. I can barely remember a day that I did not see Curley's smiling face. An inspiration to all with his incredible energy and work ethic, he will surely be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I would like to extend my condolences to the Russell family. I worked with Curley at Harris Bank, and think of him fondly.



Many of us will miss him, but I'm sure he is smiling down on us. It will be impossible to replace him.

I had the special privelage of knowing Curly in both the 311 & 111 buildings of Harris Bank. But, it was here in the 111 that I really had the pleasure of having conversations with a good man. Those of you who were truly close to Curly, I am sure will miss a great man. Because those of us that had the pleasure of just saying hello and reaping the benefits of his smile will miss his sincerity, kindness and heart. I wish I could have been in his light for a little while longer. If only, to catch one single ray that made him who he was to the world and his family. Just one ray – that will help me become 1/4 of the person he was while on my earthly journey.

Curly was one of my first mentors at the Harris Bank. I met Curly when I first started with the Harris Bank as a messenger and his dedication to his job and his love of life helped inspire me to become the person I am today. I will always remember the way he greeted everyone with a smile. My condolences to his family. I know I will miss him.

I work at the Harris Bank and knew Curley for many years. He was such a nice man! He was always smiling, and would always say hello to me and talk to me! My condolences to his family.

I had the opertunity to talk with Mr. Curley at luch once and found he had a very interesting story to tell, of how he met his wife, his time in the armed forces, he sons, his jobs I enjoyed talking with him and wish I could have talked with him more often.
