Clarence was a talented and charming co-worker. After he retired, I occasionally ran into him in bookstores. May he rest in peace.

Clarence and I worked together at the Chicago History Museum in the Prints & Photographs Department once upon a time. Since we both were from the Southwest Side, we shared many bus rides home from work. He was bright and always had good conversation. I enjoyed his company.

I had the honor of working with Clarence at the Chicago History Museum for many years. He truly was a gentleman and a scholar--polite to a fault and always ready with some interesting fact or his take on a film he had seen or music he had heard. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an impish way of doing things. He was a lovely person by every measure, and we shall all miss him very much. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

My deepest sympathy to Clarence's family and friends. As one of his co-workers at Chicago Historical Society, I recall and value his originality, his knowledge on many topics, and his inquiring mind. He was a fine person and will be greatly missed.

I will always remember you as we have been friends for so many years. We both shared a passion for the arts. I will miss our phone conversations we had almost every week arguing on who knew the most about the actors and their movies. We will meet again someday and continue our discussions. Rest in peace....
